Unbowed Celtic's manager insists he is not worried about dismissal yet supporters unleash anger after derby defeat.

The Celtic boss declared he had no concerns about the sack, claiming, “I believe we are really close to a turnaround,” despite edging perilously close to the chopping block with a heavy defeat by the Ibrox side.

Another Capitulation Leads to Derby Disaster

The home side were in front the visitors at the break but a collapse after the break let the Gers to pull level on points with the current league title holders. Nancy, who was brought in from Columbus Crew, has now been in charge for six defeats in eight fixtures.

“We are together at the club,” stated Nancy.

Questioned about his own future, Nancy responded: “That’s not my focus. I think about discovering solutions to aid my players to be good on small moments.

Supporters' Anger Outside Parkhead

Hundreds of supporters displayed their anger – directed at the hierarchy – by protesting at full time. The board are thought to be considering to bring back the former boss, who enjoyed a successful temporary stint last year, should a change be made.

“It’s the results [that leads to pressure]. So this is the truth for the moment. But when I say this is the reality, that is not a sign that I am a defeatist guy. Absolutely not. The message is we are really close, imminently close to turn things around.”

Focus on the Details

The coach continues to cling to the fact Celtic can perform strongly for a half at a time. Indeed, were it not for poor finishing they might have been better than 1-0 up. “I saw enough aside from the fact that we haven’t scored more goals,” he said. “I know that we lost, but it's important to stay fair.

“The level we had at stages was of top quality. That happened. And I would not say that if it was not the case. But that’s why, when it comes to wins, I mentioned we've seen this before. That’s why I said that a change is coming to getting it right. Currently: small things.”

“I saw many, many good things that we did, like today again. The issue now it’s about sustaining it. My outlook would be different the same. Therefore I firmly believe we will manage to fix this.”

Röhl’s Cautious Response

Rangers manager was cautious about a serious challenge in spite of what felt like a landmark win. “Step by step, and we can really build up a challenge,” he said. “The confidence in the squad is immense.”
