Major Moscow's Attacks Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have caused blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while local people in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and encountered disruption to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has escalated strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets struck energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to restore power.

A wave of strikes hit energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Local officials said the metropolitan region came under heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and three other people were injured.

The attacks follow nights of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting energy systems.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
