Individuals of an Italy-based clan of burglars who stole over £1.2m valued of items, among them from ex- Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, have been ordered to pay back only £1 each.

Siblings Valentino and Giacomo, their female sibling Jela and her child Charlie journeyed to the north-east of the UK to raid three houses in April 2024.

The foursome were jailed for between six and 10 years in 2025.

At a proceeds of crime proceeding at the court, Jela and the Nikolov brothers were ordered to pay back £1 per person while Charlie Jovanovic must pay £1,135.

Details of the Burglaries

The court was told the gang came by ferry in the United Kingdom on March 27, 2024 and used a campervan as their "base of operations", which they stationed at a service area and Durham service service stations while utilizing a separate vehicle to scout out properties and execute thefts.

On 31 March they stole over one million pounds of items including high-end fashion, handbags, jewelry and a CBE medal from a house on a street in Jesmond, while the owners were away.

The following night, the crew entered a house on a gated cul-de-sac in Whitburn, South Tyneside, and took designer handbags, valuables and footwear worth more than one hundred thousand pounds.

After scouting out the football club's training ground for two days, they then struck at the residence of Swedish player Alexander Isak in Darras Hall on April 4, stealing ten thousand pounds in cash, £68,000 valued of jewelry and the player's one hundred twenty thousand pound Audi RS6.

Court Hearings and Rulings

Valentino had denied the burglary plot but was found guilty by jurors, while his family members had all entered admissions to the identical accusation.
